Stephanie Carper-Smith is a licensed massage therapist with over 1000 hours of training and over 10 years of experience. Stephanie chose the name Kinetic Therapy because Kinetic means movement. Therapeutic massage influences muscle movement by restoring muscle balance, flexibility and range of motion. It also promotes healthy movement of lymph, oxygenated blood and energy to target areas and throughout the body. Some techniques such as Cranial Sacral Therapy, have a ballancing and calming affect on the central nervious system, which in turn has an affect over many other body systems. Stephanie Carper-Smith has been a licensed massage therapist since 1999 and enjoys working with those who suffer from both chronic and acute pain to reduce and hopefully eliminate it. She believes that education should be a lifelong process and thus continuously maintains and enhances her knowledge by taking continuing education courses. It is Best to have your massage therapist determine the combination of techniques that will most accurately address your needs. feedback is appreciated and will make your sessions most beneficial. Please keep your massage therapist informed of changes in your Health. Therapeutic massage is not a replacement for medical care. The techniques Stephanie uses are: Deep Tissue, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Lymph Drainage, Swedish Massage, Acupressure, Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage, hot stones. While completing her pre-medicine requirements as an undergraduate at UCLA, Athena realized that there was a distinction between treating and healing. As a result, Athena began studying holistic medicine in 1995 as she was drawn to looking at the whole person. Athena believes that we are always functioning simultaneously as mind-body-spirit and approaching issues with that understanding allows for transformation to take place. Athena is trained in massage therapy, has a Master's Degree in Somatic (Body-Oriented) Psychology and has a great deal of experience in working with trauma. She is a California State Licensed Psychotherapist (MFT), Board Member of the Coldwater Counseling Center and the Director of Wellness Works. She practices body-oriented psychotherapy with a Jungian orientation as she utilizes her intuitive gifts with clients who are nurtured, healed and empowered through their work. If you come to work with Athena you may experience: talking, being listened to, art therapy, sand tray, sound healing, breath work, body therapy and movement therapy as tools for healing. With great compassion, respect and love, Athena brings awareness to the gifts present in growth, transformation and healing.

The turning point for Cliff came while he was a Marine Officer in Vietnam, experiencing the reality of war and loss. The experience became a catalyst for him to heal himself. It taught him about the reality of trauma, immense loss of hope, and that there is also the birthing of recovery. Cliff works with people who have gone through severe crisis and loss. He believes that sometimes trauma and severe loss manifest through addiction and yet the reality of how breakable we are makes us confront the reality of what can restore. Cliff adds that what we have learned, our psyche, our spirituality, the work of healing and creative energy is also part of our story, not only trauma. Cliff has been involved in helping services since 1972. He sometimes uses the body in his work, as he has been an Aikido Instructor for 30 years. Through the practice of Psychosynthesis, Cliff blends the psychological and the spiritual.

Elen Lauper

562 715 1405
818 569 3033
elen@wellnessworksglendale.org
Elen has been in practice since 1992 with a Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine and practices a range of acupuncture styles. Elen’s approach in treating symptoms and complaints is to listen to the body, and then to teach you how to do the same. Her style is eclectic, taking from TCM, Classical Chinese medicine, Japanese Acupuncture, Auricular, and Hand Acupuncture.

The focus of her work is: movement, nourishment, and assistance through times of change/aka crisis. Elen works with clients in cooperation either to remedy a specific complaint or for general health improvement. She teaches her clients how to look at their symptoms and complaints as the body’s way of communicating a sense of imbalance; and shows how to see the connections between the mind, body, emotions and psyche or spirit.

Although acupuncture is most often used for pain relief, it is also used to unlock long-standing symptoms of impaired functioning such as asthma, allergies, menstrual discomfort, digestive disorders, immune impairment, and urinary difficulties, creating a sense of calm and well-being at the same time. This treatment therapy is complementary with other health care systems.

The techniques Elen uses include: Acupuncture, moxibustion, Acupressure; Sound therapies; stretching, movement exercises, and hand yoga; eating with the seasons, and using food as medicine.

Elen is available in Glendale on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and in Long Beach on Mondays and Fridays..

My name is Mary Nazarian and I do MM (Multiple Modalities) Massage Therapy and Bodywork. I learned some of my techniques in Japan in 2002 when I had 2 car accidents in less than two weeks and found myself in a critical situation. I had a very good Japanese friend who insisted that I should go to Japan for treatment which I did and not only recovered from my situation but also went back and learned some of the unique techniques of Dr. Saiki. Upon coming back to United States I started taking different classes and have learned different modalities. Here are some of those modalities:

Japanese Unlocking energy Blocks, Reflexology (Hands, feet & Ears), Emergency Response Therapy, Massage Cupping Therapy, G-Jo Chinese Acupressure, Brain & Stoke Therapy, Heated Stone Therapy, Pressure plus Motion, Spa Facial Massage, Swedish Massage, Lymph Drainage, Chair Massage.

Who can benefit from MM Massage Therapy? Anyone having one or a combination of following conditions. I usually have clients that want to avoid surgery or have tried everything and ‘nothing has seemed to work.’ Here are some of their problems:

Chronic Pain Cycle, Stiffness & Migraine Headaches, Neck and Shoulder Tension, Upper or Lower Back Pain, Knee or Leg Problem, Disk Problem, Sciatica, Arthritis, Constipation, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Facial problem such as acne, Unbalanced Jaws, Ear Problem, Stroke or Brain Damage.

My Objective is to help people achieve physical balance and experience relief from many aches and pains in a short period of time! I also aim to address the cause not merely the symptoms. This is the most productive way to restore health and alleviate pain. Finally, I can hope to find balance between the muscles & the spine by working on the tissue. No cracking, No popping!
